isa is our original factory brand, launched in 2009.
Built on over 47 years of craftsmanship and experience in Japanese denim manufacturing, the name "isa" comes from Isana (勇魚), an ancient Japanese word meaning whale.
The signature Whale Tail logo is inspired by the graceful tail of the Bryde's whales that inhabit Tosa Bay, Kochi, Japan.
Our Whale Tail represents the strength, kindness, and freedom of whales swimming across the vast ocean, while also symbolizing good luck. Every pair of isa jeans embodies the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship and the beauty of nature.
